We know you are probably thinking "What's the big deal about nursery curtains?"
First of all, they are more important than you may first think and you have a few points to consider before you make your final choice.
Colour and design - lots of parents choose nursery curtains to match the rest of their baby's nursery decor.
Thickness: The other thing that you will want to consider would be the thickness of the nursery curtains - there's no point buying thin unlined curtains - they will let too much light through in Summer and too much heat out in Winter.
Quality: You should also consider quality because you'll want to keep the same curtains through the baby's childhood if possible.
Safety: Babies do get older and may evenually be able to reach the nursery curtains to bring them down. We recommend buying curtains that are not too long so that the baby can't pull on them when they are learning to walk.
Curtain Headers: Do you need tab top curtains or nursery curtains with tape headers (these run on tracks). Designs are normally available in one or the other so check before you buy.
Tab Top curtains:
Tape (track) curtains: Baby Pilot nursery curtains, Babyooshka nursery curtains
The Izziwotnot curtains come in a standard size (width and drop) of 132 and 163 cm.
Buying nursery curtains from New Baby Nursery Bedding: Important points to remember:
Please check the size and design of the curtains carefully before you open the packet. We charge a 20% restocking fee for curtains which are returned once they have been opened as we can not sell them as new.
Curtain width:
We recommend the total width of both curtains should be one and a half to two times as wide as the curtain track or pole (excluding finials). This will result in a "full" look to the curtains.
Curtain length:
We recommend that the curtain length is at least 8”/20cms longer than the depth of the window recess, to allow for fitting the curtains on the track or pole, and to hang below the bottom of the window recess.
