Cotton sheets and blankets are the traditional cot bedding choices for parents. This is because using cot blankets and cot sheets lets parents keep their baby at the perfect temperature through adding or removing layers when needed.
Remember that you should use special smaller sized sheets if you use a pram, carrycot or moses basket. These are smaller than normal cot-sized bedding.
Usually, you should start with around three blankets and four sheets. This amount enables you to have enough spare sheets and blankets ready if you need to make a quick change. Cot sheets are generally made of the following different fabrics: traditional cotton, brushed flannelette (which is warm to the touch), stretch cotton terry or cotton jersey. Stretchy fitted sheets are useful bedding additions because they are unlikely to become come untucked during the night and are easy to get on and off.
Cuddly fleece blankets, which are made from polyester, are also very popular and can be used in prams and strollers during colder weather, but be careful if you use them indoors as they can become too warm.
